Sticking in Stage 4
Quote from Reloader on April 7, 2016, 11:28 pmI'm reloading .44-40s. Though I have lubed the bushings and along the body with a slight bit of lubricant, when I pull up on the handle when a round is in Stage 4 - The Crimp Stage- it hangs and requires more than necessary pressure to bring the body down from the die. In other words, the Square Deal B jerks a little when pulling up on the handle to complete the reloading process. The completed cartridge fits a case gauge and is the right length. The die is free of lead. What is my problem and solution?

You have this problem with no other cartridges in the machine?
It is consistent, not just a 'now and then' thing?reason I ask is mine will have a 'hitch in its gitty-up' when my .45 Colt brass comes out of the POWDER FUNNEL over at Station 2. this especially happens if I wet tumble the brass. Spray lube solves this problem
are you sure you are not putting too much crimp on the rounds? It doesn't take much to have a satisfactory crimp
