Storing

Do you offer any type of storage case for the 550b when not in use?

No storage case that I know of.  You can cover with the Dillon RL550/Square Deal Machine Cover Stock Number: 13795 for $24.  The cover has the advantage of being able to lock.

I found a pillow case works well.  I took an old pair of pants legs and stitched them together to have a better fit.

Thanks. I don't have a place I can leave the reloading machine up all the time. I will likely build a storage box to keep it safe when not in use.

I'd recommend lubing it prior to storage, then clean it pretty good when bringing it out of storage.  Make sure to loosen up the low primer warning device and remove the battery.  I've been having bad luck with batteries rupturing lately.  Make sure that the low primer alarm rod remains flat or straight.  I'll keep mine in a primer rod from now on.  It can warp if it's allowed to bow for a long period of time.

If it sets up for a couple of years, you might want to do a complete breakdown and relube.  Mine sat up for 8 years and all of the grease hardened.  After a breakdown and relube, it ran smooth as butter. Basically, you will need to clean the shaft and coat it with motor oil, then the pins need to be cleaned and lightly coated with grease.    It's a good idea to get an alignment tool from Dillon prior to a breakdown.

I would also suggest keeping it indoors

Can this be stored in a sealed garage, no heat or air conditioning in it though?  Or should this be indoors with AC and Heating?  I have a basement but when we get a downpour it does get @ half an inch of water on the floor.   Is that a problem.  Just the humidity is it an issue.  The water wont be getting near where its located.

It would be good to know how long you intend on keeping it in storage.  One season and a good oiling (or car wax) of unpainted surfaces should help retard corrosion.  Also depends on your location.  If you have a moderate to high humidity then oxidation (rusting) of components can be an issue.  I have to clean and rewax all of the beds on my wood working equipment in the garage at least every 1-3 months otherwise I start getting rust.  Our relative humidity isn't that high.

That being said, after sitting unused for 7 years in my house, the steel parts of the Dillon press didn't oxidize, but my dies did slightly.  I only had the Dillon dust cover on mine.
