Stuck .308 in Stage One
Quote from Reloader on February 29, 2008, 1:54 pmGood Morning, I am attempting to reload .308 for the first time in my XL 650. I ran all the cases thru the decapper die so I could ream the primer pockets. My brass cases seem to work fine, but, my few nickle cases stick in the resizer.
Now, I have one stuck I can not get out. Yes it was lubed to the max. I have done everything that Dillon tech support suggested, including soaking the die, overnight in lube, still can't get the casing out by turning down the nut, and can't remove the neck expander.
Any help?

Quote from Reloader on February 29, 2008, 6:40 pmAfter you remove the clip above the jam nut, back the nut up all the way, and use a wrnech to thread the decap assembly all the way down. Now, use a wrench to hold the jam nut against the top of the die, and back the decap assembly up through the jam nut, again using a wrench. Doing this, the expander ball stretches and thins the case neck so the decap assembly passes through it. Then use any thing rod, like a pencil or screwdriver, to pop the case out of the die.
