Stuck Brass Removal?
Quote from Reloader on September 15, 2012, 1:38 amDespite lubing my .223 brass really well, I finally had one stuck inside my Dillon Sizer/Deprimer Die. So I pulled out my RCBS Stuck Brass Removal Kit. Before drilling the hole in the brass, am I supposed to totally remove the depriming pin? If so, I tried to do that and couldn't. It seems to me that drilling with the pin still in the primer would destroy the pin. I watched the RCBS U-Tube showing how to use the Kit, but it didn't really show anything about the pin, he just starts drilling, and the rest is pretty clear. Anyone have this experience. Would appreciate some step by step advice on using the Brass Removal Kit. Thanks.

In the event of a stuck
case, the design of the depriming assembly
allows it to function as a stuck-case
remover. Simply remove the silver clip,
loosen the stem lock nut and then spin it up
to the top of the stem. With a wrench, turn
the depriming assembly into the die.
“Clockwise” turns will loosen the stuck
case. Use pliers to remove the case from the
depriming assembly.

Quote from Reloader on July 7, 2013, 2:37 pmThanks Dillon! I have a Super 1050 and had a stuck .223 case and I couldn't figure out how to remove it. If I drilled, I would have damaged the de-primer. I used the instructions below and it worked perfectly. Well engineered and very easy to use! I wish these instructions were in the manual, that would have saved me a lot of time and trouble!

Quote from Reloader on August 11, 2013, 6:02 ami have a stuck .223 brass in the deprimer die - i backed out (loosened) depriming assembly (counterclockwise) out completely and now I cant seem to get it to rethread into the die - it just spins whether I turn it clockwise or CCW. Any thoughts on how to get it to rethread?
