torquing shell holder platform
Quote from Reloader on December 12, 2014, 1:39 amI have two RL450 presses I bought new in the mid 1980s. On both of them the shell holder platform torques just a little at the top of the upstroke. Probably one (or two degrees at most). Not enough that it seems to be a problem.
Neither press has seen heavy use (less than 3k each).
Is this normal for the early RL450s to torque/twist like this? Do the current 550s do the same?
Just wondering as I am thinking about upgrading at least one of them with the 550 frame so I can use the quick change tool heads.
I don't want to spend money upgrading these presses with new frames if my linkage and ram are already in marginal condition, (if it is marginal).
