trimming
Quote from Reloader on June 21, 2013, 11:21 pmI have the 650 and i am trying to setup the 223 trim die for the 1200 trimer. it is like the tool head i to fat for the die. i have to have it just about all the way dow and there is not much left on the threads to tighting the die. plus the nut will allmos cover up the hole for the vac to pull out the cutting. do they make a tool head just for this because it is like the head is too fat.

Quote from Reloader on June 22, 2013, 11:44 amIt (the toolhead) does seem to be too thick, but keep adjusting it, it does work. Look further at this topic and you will find a lot of information as to what others have done. Be careful to creep slowly to the trimming of the brass. A tiny movement lowers a lot once you get close and you do not want to break the cutter. Mine did take some time to get just right but since then it has worked flawlessly. Good luck.

Quote from Reloader on June 23, 2013, 7:28 pmI was thinking about cutting some of the top of the tool head so the trimmer will fit better. yes it will work but the opening that the shavings come out of is very small because the nut blocks it. i have to tack it apart and clean it out the vac helps but still gets block. if i shave some off the tool head that will but the nut lower. any thoughts

Quote from Reloader on June 23, 2013, 9:29 pmI would not alter the frame. Some others have had this problem and they have either put the nut on the bottom of the die or shaved material off the nut to allow the shavings to be removed. It is easier to replace a nut than to have the frame repaired.
