Tumbling with stainless steel media
Quote from Reloader on May 15, 2014, 8:00 pmHave just completed my SS tumbler and love the results. Question: is the cm-2000 capable of quickly and efficiently separating the brass from the small pins?

We use a cm 500. fill it with water so that the basket is submerged. It helps in getting all the pins out of the cases, plus a extra rinse. You will find some stray pins stuck in the hinge area.

Quote from Reloader on June 5, 2014, 7:44 pmAt first I just strained with cm 500 to separate the SS media until no more came out. Then when installing primers I found some cases with the pins stuck in the flash hole and primer pocket. Always check now.

Quote from Reloader on May 14, 2018, 9:35 amI've been studying on making a "double decker" support bracket for mine.
One at regular height for spinning partially submerged to help remove pins, and another higher level for spinning excess water out.

Quote from Reloader on May 21, 2018, 8:20 pmI forgot to previously mention. When I am tumbling the brass to remove the SS Pins, I make sure to have just enough water in the lower basket for the water to wash through. After 3-4 flushes, I've had good results like this taking out all of the pins. I dry mine over night then slosh them back and forth in a towel. Once they dry overnight or a couple of days, I do this again. Occasionally I'll see 2-3 pins on the towel when I'm done.
