Two Die set work???
Quote from Reloader on December 20, 2017, 2:17 amI have a Hornady three die 45 ACP set. Can you use the Bullet seating/crimp die in the third hole of the 550? I have used a seating/crimp die in my single stage press for rifle. Not sure how it would work on a progressive?

Quote from Reloader on December 20, 2017, 2:39 pmYes, you can. This will be a roll crimp, not a taper crimp however. You need a lighter touch when adjusting the crimp, and it requires more uniform case lengths to ensure a consistent crimp.
We recommend purchasing a separate taper crimp die to use in station 4, and use your seat/crimp die as a sseat-only die in station 3.45ACP taper crimp die, stock #14441 $24.95

Quote from Reloader on December 20, 2017, 6:06 pmDillon is being modest by saying just add the taper crimp die. I would recommend you purchase the dillon three die set 14404(?) for around $70. And then sale the Hornady dies. I have owned both mfg's dies in both pistol and rifle. They both are nice. But, the quick disassembly feature of Dillon is worth the switch.
