You would put a powder die in position one on the tool head and then put the tool in it. It would then fit into the primer hole in the platform to insure it is lined up with the tool head.

Quote from Reloader on June 7, 2020, 10:08 amThanks, I have had that thing in a ammo can with all my other small parts since 1990 when I bought my 550. I do not think i ever used it. I need to give it a try. Not sure how to change the alignment if it doesn’t line up. But I guess I can ask then. Thanks again.

Quote from Reloader on June 7, 2020, 11:02 amThe plate on the Ram has 2 screws that hold it down. You would loosen those and shift the plate until the tool fits in the primer hole without it hitting the sides of the hole and then dropping in. If you are not having problems with primers I would not worry about trying it. I have several of them as I had upgraded my powder returns from the older return lever to the newer one and all the upgrades came with the alignment tool. I have used them a few times when I do a complete teardown of both of my 550's to clean and lube all the pivot points. Never had a problem with the platform unless I took it off and reinstalled it. Then I would use the tool.

Quote from Reloader on June 7, 2020, 7:11 pmThanks again. I will check it as the last batch of 9mm I ran, I was having trouble with the case mouths falling a hair short of the die mouth. Maybe I do need to adjust it a little.
