Upgrade PM's?
Quote from Reloader on July 31, 2010, 12:45 amJust bought my first Blue Press, an old SDB, set up for 45ACP and 38. Just going thru it now, checking to see what parts are missing - I know there are a few, so I'll have a parts order coming out soon.
I noticed that the 2 powder measures have the old style return springs. Should I upgrade to the failsafe rod system?
Thanks,

Quote from Reloader on August 2, 2010, 2:46 pmWhile far from essential, the new failsafe assembly does make it even harder to accidently double-charge a case. The two-piece bellcrank physically blocks return of the powder bar until after the shellplate has started to rotate to the next position. Then the return rod pulls the locking link down and out of the way, allowing the return rod to fully retract the powder bar.
To update, purchase the locking link #97034 as well as the new failsafe return rod, #16814.
