Variable Casefeeder Suddenly Runs Slowly

For one evening the casefeeder worked great - faster than needed, actually - so I ran it about 33% 'throttle' since I was just depriming cases.

I went to use it and now it won't move at all. I advanced the speed knob well past half, and it started slowly. Now at 100% 'full' it moves about about the same speed as it used to at about the 1/4 setting.

Is this defective, or is there a setting that I'm missing?

How many pieces of brass do you have in it? I don't have the variable speed, but if I overload mine it won't spin at all.

Very few. Even with zero, it runs very slowly.
