Warranty
Quote from Reloader on February 22, 2011, 2:13 amI purchased my first Dillon RL550B in the early to mid ninties....three states and four different houses ago. I now have two RL550B's set up side by side, one for small primers and the other for large primers. The last time that I counted, I have the conversion kits and dies set up in toolheads for fourteen different calibers. I have a half dozen set up with their own powder measure on individual toolhead stands. I have many different Dillon tools that I purchased without reservation, because of the no BS warranty. Last week, my five year old son was helping me to swage some military 5.56 cases using my Super Swage 600. On one case, he pulled the handle down when the case was not properly aligned...this 40 pound child managed to bend the case support rod (small size) that came with the tool. I sent it in last week, asking for a replacement.
I discovered yesterday that I had failed to purchase the X-Large powder die for my S&W 500 magnum when I purchased the Dillon Caliber Conversion kit last week. I phoned today to purchase the XL powder die and mentioned the above, just trying to save some on the shipping charges. While I was on the telephone, the sales rep evidently pulled up my customer number and told me that since they had no record of the Super Swage purchase, the bent rod would not be covered under warranty! I asked him again, to please check the records; I have moved at least twice... he told me again that he would be happy to send me a new rod, as long as I paid full price for the part. Lots of choice here... pay the price or throw the $98 tool in the trash.
I really did not expect this from the Blue Press people. I paid the $18 for the powder die, $12 for the rod, and another $10 or $12 to ship a couple of ounces of steel. I have been really happy with Dillon; until today.

I do apologise for the misunderstanding over your damaged swager part. The part that was bent was covered under warranty. We received the bent rod you returned to us today, and we created a return authorization to generate a refund for the cost of the rod. You will receive a refund check in a week or so. Had the technician sent one under warranty to you, you would have ended up receiving two rods for free. It would greatly assist us if you would phone us for return authorization first when sending a part in for repair/replacement.

Quote from Reloader on February 22, 2011, 5:11 pmMy apologies for not calling for an RMA in the first place. Thank you for taking such good care of both your equipment in the field and your clients who use the Blue Press. I look forward to swaging a lot more 5.56 and getting some Dillon loaded 500 S&W mag ammo to the range.
Thanks again.
