Quote from Reloader on August 1, 2007, 6:19 pmI have a Dillon automatic primer filler my wife bought me last Christmas. Of all the Dillon products I own, I can think of none that I anticipated owning more than this one. Just think, no more tedious loading of individual pick-up tubes with all the headaches associated with that process. Well, the "rest of the story" is the rascal just does not want to work 100% of the time. I started out having 8% to 10% of the primers upside down. After sending it back to Dillon and having their guru's work some magic, the error rate is around 1% to 2%. Fortunately, their excellent support staff suggested I adjust the screw holding the feeding funnel and check to be sure a groove was cut in the frame allowing the primers to step down into the funnel. When I have had a chance to play with it using Dillon's suggestions I will let you know the outcome.

Quote from Reloader on September 10, 2007, 3:47 pmHi, I want to, would love to reload for my Springfield XD 45 apc. I am told not to do this. If you keep the loads on the mild side can a person get into any real trouble doing this? Anyone with experiance with this? Mike Dill

Quote from Reloader on September 10, 2007, 4:34 pmSeveral Dillon employees own, load for and shoot Springfield Armory XD45s, myself included. NO problem at all shooting reloads in these fine firearms! They have conventional rifling, therefore are just as happy digesting lead as well as jacketed bullets. Mine accepts SWC bullets just as well as RN styles.

Quote from Reloader on September 11, 2007, 3:07 pmThe Springfield Armory XD is just as strong as any 1911 Model pistol. In fact, the chamber walls are slightly thicker than those of a 1911. No worries at all regarding strength, load up to any other 45 ACP chamber pressures. Only make reduced loads if that is what you require.

Quote from Reloader on September 12, 2007, 11:21 amI am very glad to hear your report on my Springfield XD. However being now somewhat confused. When I purchased my Springfield, and talking with my dealer, what was all the conversation about with warning me about an unsupported chamber? I was beginning to think perhaps it wasn't safe to use +p ammo. I have ordered the conversation for my 650, and dies. All I should need to start loading which I intend to do. But what was all his crap about? Mike Dill

Quote from Reloader on September 12, 2007, 3:01 pmAccording to Springfield Armory's website, the XD in 45ACP has a fully supported ramped barrel. I spoke to their Customer Service Department, and they assure me that the XD in 45ACP is safe and approved for +P loads. Load, shoot, and enjoy!Repeat !

Quote from Reloader on October 24, 2007, 9:01 pmIn reply to the XD 45 question concerning the dealer's advice. Glocks are the ones with the unsupported chambers and reported to have potential trouble with lead ammuntion/handloaded ammunition.
I've talked with and individual claiming to have loaded hand cast lead rounds for his G21 to the tune of 1,000's of rounds with no incident. Maybe he cleaned his?
I have an XD45 Tactical and love it. I don't plan to treat it any different than all my other 1911's I load for on my RL550B.
