What else do I need?
Quote from Reloader on January 6, 2013, 7:13 amI've decided to start reloading .223/5.56, 9mm, 40, 45ACP, 45LC, .308 and have experience running a Hornady 366 auto progressive shot shell loader since I was a kid (along with 2 single stage loaders) in the 70's and ran an RCBS rock chucker supreme with a friend until I moved. No freakin way am I going to stand there night after night loading .223 ammo on a single stage. First one I want to start loading is the .223/5.56 and I picked the 650 as the loader I want to go with. Now mind you I have no equipment for reloading metal cases so I need help on what all I need. (Already have Nosler, Lyman, SPeer, Loading for AR15 and .223 one round one book for loading reference.) Could you guys double check my shopping list to see what else I am missing?

Quote from Reloader on January 6, 2013, 3:46 pmNice Top end setup. I have slowly worked up to a very similar setup.
Add:Rapid Polish 290 (8 oz. Bottle)Stock Number: 13804
You can for now probably remove (if you want to save some cash)
Super Swage 600 - only need if you are going to get military cases. There is a huge amount of non mil cases.
Dillon Low Powder Sensor - Just refill the powder after each 200 cases loaded.I always wanted a Dillon RF 100 Lg. Primer Filler. But instead I will the extra tubes around the TV. Make sure you use up all Rifle before switching to Pistol, etc. I figure for $300 I can load a lot more cases.
Always remove excess powder at end of reloading session. Keep from powder degradation and keep the plastic clearer longer.
ADD: Friend that has done pistol/rifle reloading, hopefully on a Dillon to get you started.
Load safe. congratulations. I started my shotshell loading with a Mec 650, moved to 366's. A friend started me on his Dillon 550. I started with a 550B and moved to a 650. Rifle/Pistol is less forgiving, but very similar once you know what to watch our for (bullet seating, case length, overall length, proper power, bullet crimp).

You sound like me, last week. I took the intellectually lazy, yet far more expediant route. Call the phone order number and talk to the guys at Dillon. Very professional.
The gentleman I spoke with was very knowledgeable on all things reloading and Dillon equipment. Also, he didn't leave any stone unturned. A new SWager that will make my 5.56 crimp issues a much less imposing endeavor. He provided me advice on things I need to consider and recommended everything I'll need to get started on 9mm and .223/5.56.
Give 'em a call, you won't be sorry.

Quote from Reloader on January 13, 2013, 3:52 pmThanks for the input everyone. I went ahead and added the lube. Already have the calipers, speer, lyman, nosler, Loading for the AR15 and the .223 One Caliber one Book series for loading. Added an electric case trimmer to the package and now just have one last question. Is there any discount code (Disabled Vet, Student, Lions International, other) or other sellers that offer a discounted price or is everything pretty much full retail with Dillon?

Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2013, 9:16 pmI am kinda in the same boat, but have never reloaded, have friends that do, and one is using a 550, but I am wanting to get the 650, but have questions and tried calling customer service,(busy signal all the time). I am probably going to print your topic and go frm there since you have a good selection of what I had already been looking at for purchase.
