why is Crimp Adjustment Screw so long?

I know its height used to be for the Dillon counter but since they are no longer available is there any reason I can't cut the top of mine off?

The height gets in the way of the bell crank on the powder measure.

Feel free to shorten the top of the crimp adjustment die.

Not hard and worth the effort--powder measure "T" arm no longer hitting it
