XL650 Newbie Questions
Quote from Reloader on September 30, 2012, 2:36 amI just got a 650 and have a couple of questions. I am not new to reloading, but I am new to this press. I just switched from a Hornady LNL to the XL650 so I am trying to figure our a few things that I am not used to. Here are the questions:
1. After I load the press with small primers, how many times should I cycle the press before a put a case on station 1? How about large primers?
2. When using small primers, how many primers do I have left after the low primer alarm goes off? How about large primers?
3. Is there any way to disable temporarily the case feeding system? What should I do if I want to cycle the cases that are already on the shell plate, but do not want to feed more cases?

2. I have only used Large primers so far. Never really counted, but I think its around 10 or so.
3. Go to Brianenos.com or You tube. There are very detailed ways to accomplish what you are trying to do. Ive had my press for 3 weeks and use some of the "mods" you are talking about. What you are talking about is the "XL650 Casefeed Interrupt" check here, scroll down.. Actually read the whole dang page lol.. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/338019_.html
These Mods are NOT permanent. But they will help you..
