650 and 223 cases falling over

PreviousPage 2 of 2

I have the same problem, any solutions? Seems the cases are dropping off center and when they are pushed forward, they contact one side of the feed lips before the other and this knocks the cases down. Anyone from Dillon going to chime in?

I had the same problem and by chance fixed it by changing the case slide cam back to the pistol side as has been mentioned here before. The reloader is at 100% now, there is just a learning curve to the machine and a lot of "feeling" how it works over the years.

I have two dillon 650 presses and had them for many years and also have had problems with 223 brass tipping over.

Some of this may sound odd but try it. First make sure that you have the small cf body bushing. Second take out the station one locator and look at where the shell drops down and hits it, if where it hits is to one side or the other take out the shell plate, there will be two bolts that hold the platform down, loosen and adjust to try and get it where it will drop center of the station one locator.

Sometimes the camming pin hits the side of the case insert slide, pushing the slide to the side, making the shell drop more to one side. If this is happening loosen the three bolts holding the cf body assembly and cock the assembly so it will clear the slide.

Also a little grease on the bottom of the station one locator can help, it dampens the fall and keeps the brass from bouncing so much, but only last for a short time.
