If you're using ball powder, my experience is it's unusual to see more than 0.2 grains variation - usually +/- 0.1 grain.

i use hodgdon benchmark 25.6 gr with a 55 gr v-max bullet and it works fine. i check the weight about every 40-50 rounds and it stays within +or-.1 grains.
