Question on mounting a Strong Mount
Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2013, 7:53 pmI ordered an RL550B with a Stong Mount. I am going to be building my reloading bench tomorrow. My question is in reference to the mounting holes on the strong mount. I want to make sure I can drill through the bench top to put the bolts and be able to attach the nuts on the bottom. Therefore I do not want to have the front holes in the mount directly over the brace under the bench top.
How far back do the two front bolts sit from the front edge of the bench top. I need to know this to know if I need to overhang the bench top. I hope this is worded where it makes sense.
Thanks for any help. Ted

Quote from Reloader on January 21, 2013, 3:54 pmNo overhang is necessary with the strongmount. There is a bit of room to affix the strongmount rearward from flush with the edge of the bench, about an inch. What you need to do is attach the machine to a strongmount, pull hte handle down, and see how far back you can position it without the handle hitting the edge of your bench.

Quote from Reloader on January 21, 2013, 3:54 pmSteel Rain, I am going to e-mail technical. If I find out I will post for you.
kanehill, it is easy to give people instructions without answering their question. You must not have a strong mount or either I am looking in the wrong place. I read the maual before making the post. I also went to the Technical section. It shows setting up the base that comes with it but I cannot find a diagram showing the strong mount. If you know a page number I can go to I appreciate any help.
I am trying not to call Dillon because I know when I placed my order they were getting slammed with phone calls.

Quote from Reloader on January 21, 2013, 10:32 pmYou can always use lag screws instead of bolts.
Sorry if I missled you, was just a suggestion.
Good luck on your new Dillon. Hope you get it soon, heard they are several weeks behind on orders.

You are right about being behind. I imagine they are really scrambling trying to stay up with orders. I ordered about two weeks ago and have not heard anything yet. But, like everyone else I wil survive.
