Shipping delays
Quote from Reloader on January 27, 2013, 6:20 amYea, Im kinda upset with dillon, I brought a xl650 with some other things last week. I thought shipping wouldn't be to bad because the 650 page didn't say it was backordered or anything. Now today on their home page it says up to 8 weeks!!?
When you buy bullets from here it says that there backordered, but if you buy a $600 machine it doesn't tell you that your gonna have to wait 8 weeks?

Quote from Reloader on January 29, 2013, 5:36 pmYou guys are barking about delays on presses.... have you looked at what other companies are doing on powder and ammo ? I'd say considering the fire and brimstone this industry is currently experiencing you're luck they are even allowing you to place backorders. Heck a lot of places are allowing you to backorder items that may be banned before they ship, charging your CC when you place the order then if the item is banned before you get it charging you a 15% restocking fee to 'restock' non-existent products. Dillon is Obviously a NO BS company because if they were anything less they would send you a shipment of Gyne Lotrimin and tell you to STFU.
If you've been truly dealing with Dillon since before people could spell it you would have some idea of how seedy a lot of places get in these market conditions. Getting on their website and ranting is 150% Whiskey Delta.

Quote from Reloader on January 30, 2013, 11:27 pmI am new to Dillon but have only heard good about their presses. Their mistake was not putting the banner about the delays on their website. That in itself will probably free up their phones for the more serious calls versus "when". I can wait, just like to know it and now I do.

Quote from Reloader on January 31, 2013, 5:32 pmMy decision to buy a new press and all the trimmings (having given my old equip away a few years ago) was driving just be wanting to re-enter the hobby and save some money now that I am shooting regularly. My timing could not have been worse - and I didn't even think about reloading equipment being affected so severely. Components sure, but equipment? Makes sense now, but it was not on my mind when I ordered.
I received a partial, that consisted of some odds and ends but none of the 'good stuff'. I was hoping that I could at least get a head start on reading the Lyman manual, but alas that was backordered also.
I don't know how long it will take. I am hoping that I won't wait too much longer and that they are applying to equipment to orders fairly, not based on who is screaming the loudest. This is my first time dealing with Dillon, so I don't know what to expect.
But we have to give them a break. I can only imagine how busy they are! As others have pointed out - some companies have become quite unscroupulous and decided that profiteering is the way to go. Dillon does not seem to be of that ilk, and it does not appear that prices are being increased, etc.
I hope to receive my press and dies, and the rest of my order soon. I am as impatient as anyone. But these are exceptional circumstances that no one can help right now.

Quote from Reloader on January 31, 2013, 8:30 pmQuality takes time, and Dillon puts out a QUALITY product. Their service (under normal conditions) is paramount, and the fact is it's simply the ABSOLUTE WORST time to buy. Of course, most of the people who are panic buying are complaining about it...

Quote from Reloader on February 1, 2013, 3:13 amThe back order wait is just what I need to remodel the man cave. New lighting, heat and air conditioning, new work bench and shelving. I waited nine months for each of my kids I can wait a few weeks for my equipment. Opinions: small couch or recliner?

Quote from Reloader on February 3, 2013, 2:08 amYou just have to be patient, I'm a FFL dealer and ordered some AR-15's from a company that was recommended to me, its been over a month, havent heard a thing, I know things will work out, it will just take time. By the way, all you people waiting should be writing your congressmen and senators to tell them honor their oaths and protect the constitution, not destroy it.... Just a thought since you all have some time on your hands.

Quote from Reloader on February 22, 2013, 7:05 amWell its week six. The banner said two to three at the time. I have been reloading with Dillion for over twenty years also, and try to purchase as much from them as possible. Unfortunately I will have to start purchasing from other sources. Their shipping receipt is not clear. Did some one rip off a box or two from my door step. Dont know and know one to ask.
